The Mixing Update 0.1.2


This update greatly expands the "mixing" cut-scene, along with a bunch of other fixes and tweaks based on feedback.  First, now you can use your earth moving magic to also pick up NPCs (which is handy if they are blocking a door you want to enter):

In the mixing cut-scene, the skull demon (now appropriately named Mixothanazel) draws you in with its own magic.  In addition to demonstrating its power, this actually solves a problem I had with getting the NPCs where they needed to be.  During the cut-scene I can't have them path-find their way over, because the player might have accidentally blocked their path with obstacles.  You might notice that each NPC (and the player) also has a "shocked" animation and a "prone" sprite now.

I got some useful player feedback that the animation to indicate you have picked up too many items was confusing, since I was using the same "slow shake" animation to indicate that an item was too heavy to pick up.  Now there's a new animation that hopefully makes it more clear you have too many items.

There are a couple more NPCs (if you can find them), but they aren't involved in much game content yet.  These are going to be villagers who you might want to appease after destroying their homes.

If you get someone killed, you'll have to deal with their remains somehow...



Next, I'd like to get started on some more building/blueprint mechanics, and some basic combat.
